Human Resource I: Human Resource Development
This course weaves together a number of ideas, practices and exercises that will immerse you in important analysis and set a solid foundation for improving your talent in addition to improving the service your Human Resource department delivers to your company.
This course will introduce you to new concepts and tools you can apply directly to improving your staff and your Human Resource Department.
Complete the following assessments as instructed in the Assignments below.
The articles for each course are rich in different perspectives. Contributors are experts in this area. Write down at least 2 critical points from each article and use them to build robust discussions with your Member-Scholar peers at CFO.University.
Our tools have been designed to shine a bright light on areas that are important to Chief Financial Officers. They are simple and straightforward to use. If you don’t learn something important about your business from our tools let us know and we’ll make them better. If you have CFO-Centric tools that are simple and insightful, send them to us. We’ll share them with your CFO.University community while giving you credit. We can’t guarantee entry into the Hall of Fame but be assured you’ll be deeply appreciated.
Assignment #1. Building Trust within your team
We have some exercises to help gauge and build the trust level within your team.
1. Distribute the following articles to your team members and ask them to read them.

The Trust Buster…..Lipotage!
2. Organize a meeting with your team to discuss what they learned from the articles and how your team can apply the concepts to improve.
3. Have the members of your team complete the Team Trust Review Assessment. If confidentiality is important you will need a non interested third party to manage the collection, compilation and summarization of the inputs submitted by participants.
Once the inputs are summarized, share the results in a team meeting, using the results as a springboard to shore up any weak areas with improvement ideas from your team. Set targets and schedule to retake the assessment in 6 months.
Assignment #2. Evaluate your People, Process and Systems
Complete the CFO Foundation - People, Process and Systems Assessment. Discuss the results with your team. Debate differences and change responses as you deem appropriate.
However, at the end of the day, this is your evaluation and will be used to put a plan in place to move your responsibility area to world class.
Share your final results and your plan with your executive team to help get their support for your plan.
Assignment #3. Help the Human Resource Department determine their Return on Investment improve on the services the deliver to the company.
